🏙️ City Centre

The beating heart of Glasgow. Buchanan Street, Argyle Street and Sauchiehall Street form the famous Golden Z of shopping. The City Centre is also home to the Gallery of Modern Art, Central Station, and some of Glasgow’s best bars and restaurants.

Best for: Shopping, bars, restaurants, nightlife, transport links.

🌿 West End

The most elegant part of Glasgow. Stunning Victorian and Edwardian architecture, the University of Glasgow, Kelvingrove Park, Byres Road and Ashton Lane. The West End has Glasgow’s highest concentration of independent restaurants and cafes.

Best for: Restaurants, cafes, culture, parks, independent shops.

Don’t miss: Kelvingrove Museum, Ubiquitous Chip, Ashton Lane, Cail Bruich, Kelvingrove Park.


🍮 Finnieston

Glasgow’s most talked-about neighbourhood. Finnieston’s Argyle Street strip is packed with award-winning restaurants, trendy bars and boutique shops. It’s become the city’s most fashionable dining destination over the past decade.

Best for: Restaurants, bars, date nights, food lovers.

Don’t miss: Ox and Finch, Mother India, The Gannet, Finneston Bar & Kitchen, Kelvingrove Cafe.


🏛️ Merchant City

Historic warehouses converted into restaurants, bars, galleries and apartments. Merchant City has a distinct continental atmosphere and is home to some of Glasgow’s best cocktail bars, the famous Barras market nearby and a thriving arts scene.

Best for: Bars, culture, architecture, weekend brunches, art galleries.

Don’t miss: Sharmanka Kinetic Theatre, Hutchesons City Grill, Bar Soba, the Italian Centre, Cafe Gandolfi.


🌻 Southside

Glasgow’s most underrated area and a favourite with locals. The Southside is diverse, affordable, and has some of the city’s best curry houses, a thriving arts scene at the CCA-style venues, and stunning Pollok Country Park.

Best for: Authentic local food, parks, value dining, community feel.

Don’t miss: Pollok Country Park, Queen’s Park, Namak Mandi, Palm Tree Kitchen, the Shawlands strip.


🎉 East End

The historic, gritty and increasingly cool East End. Home to the Barras market, Drygate Brewery, Glasgow Green and a growing number of independent food and drink spots. The East End is where Glasgow feels most like itself.

Best for: Markets, craft beer, history, local character.
